Get Me Pregnant

If you want to get pregnant, the first way to ensure this will happen is to try at a time when you know you will be fertile. Your most fertile time is during or right before your ovulation has occurred.

This generally happens once a month, and it's important to keep track of your periods in order to know when it will happen for you.

Ovulation occurs about two weeks after the initial signs of your menstrual period, or two weeks before your next period--whichever is easier for you to calculate. The more accurate you can be with this log, the better your chance of getting pregnant will be, as the most fertile days are the day of and the day before your ovulation.

It is better to err on the side of too early than too late, as sperm can survive for about three days once it is in your body. If you try a couple days before your ovulation takes place, you still have a high chance of getting pregnant. You also may take an ovulation test or record your base temperature, to increase accuracy.

Even when you try at your most fertile time, there is still a possibility that you will not get pregnant. However, there are tricks that will help your chances of getting pregnant. Drugs, smoking, and high amounts of alcohol will inhibit your fertility. Quitting any of these will increase your odds of getting pregnant.

Another factor that affects both your health and your level of fertility is your weight. People who are overweight or underweight have a lower conception rate than those whose weight is at a healthy level.

Fertility declines about 4% for every BMI level over 29, and those under the healthy BMI (15-24, depending on the woman) can fail to ovulate.

It can be even more helpful to you to try for a baby on days when you see cervical mucus than on days you know you will be ovulating. Cervical mucus is a slippery liquid that will sometimes line your underwear, and its presence means you will be likely to conceive.

Another thing that may be hindering your ability to get pregnant is the use of lubricants. These can actually kill sperm before they have a chance to connect with your eggs. If you must use lubricant, look for Conceive Plus or Pre-Seed, as these have been engineered not to harm sperm.

Men's hormone levels rise in the morning, so the sperm count may be higher, and this may be the best time to try to get pregnant. It can be difficult to know exactly when you will be the most fertile, so if your calculations don't seem to be working, or if you simply don't want to bother with them, and easier way is to simply try often.

If you attempt to have a baby  every other day, you will increase the chance of hitting your fertility window and getting pregnant.

Although many people who are trying to get pregnant do so with their special other, you may find yourself in a situation where this is not an option. Some people have turned to Craigslist to solve this problem. There is a personals section where you can specify the type of man you are looking for, and give a little information about yourself.

You also may find men offering their services, so you may not need to post your own ad at all. This can be done very discreetly, and the man can be considered a sperm donor for you. However, this may not be your best option. There are fertility clinics where you can be certain the sperm is free of diseases.

They are much more reputable than Craigslist, as anyone can post on that site, while fertility clinics require tests and medical clearance before accepting sperm. If you are with someone who is infertile, a sperm bank is a good choice to increase your chances of getting pregnant.

While there are options such as artificial and natural insemination, infertility drugs, and
fertility treatments, if you are able to get pregnant naturally, this will be your best choice. Keep track of your ovulation, watch for cervical mucus, and try often, and your chance of getting pregnant will be very high.
